I am a little late with this post because it was a busy, but wonderful week!  It was very eventful and today I am trying to catch up on everything that was set aside during the show.  I am refreshed and ready to go with a few projects I thought of throughout the week, sometimes the change in scenery and the vibes off of a great trip give my creativity a new boost! Even if the Eastern Nationals had not gone as well as it did I was surrounded by people that I love and that love me back.  They are there for me through thick and thin without asking anything in return.  People like that inspire you to give back making it a feel-good situation all around.  It is truly “Going Home” as I have said before, and more special memories were made last week.

I know, I know here I am getting warm and fuzzy once again, but that is just the way I am.  I feel like sometimes if you don’t let in the warm and fuzzies then you miss out on the big picture!  I showed ten times this past week… ten times… my horses tried hard every single run and I felt like I did my job as well.  There are not many shows you can walk away from feeling that way.  Some readers might not be able to relate to this but if you are involved in any sport you can probably guess how it feels.  I also plan to share a little more about the everyday goings on regarding the sport of cutting as time goes on so that maybe you all can understand how special and unique it is.  My point is, the big picture of a week like that is a huge since of accomplishment and pride when reflecting upon it.

There were a few extra special moments to add to the successful week in that there were two babies born at my house while I was gone.  I am so thankful to Andy for taking care of our overdue mares and bringing the perfect little babies into the world safely!  One of the main horses I showed in Jackson was Ironn Butterfly, aka Bfly as most people know her.  Her colt was born the same day that she helped me claim my tenth championship at the Eastern Nationals.  This was a huge goal for me and honestly is a bit humbling to think about.  Because of this accomplishment and the coincidence that her baby was born on the same day, his barn name is “Diez”.  We love him and my sister’s little filly “Serena” so much already!

I could go on for a long time talking about how this week and my time home made me feel but I will spare you all of the cheesiness.  I mostly want to thank everyone who has helped and encouraged me, my sister for getting my girl ready for me to show (even though she had not ridden in a year!), and Andy for holding down the fort, it was a long week for him.  My list could go on and on if I singled out each person but trust me it all is taken into account and appreciated.

This next week will be spent catching up, even though it is hard to decide where to start, and enjoying a few projects I have in mind.  I am hoping next week’s blog will include the final products of these new ideas, but more than likely it will also include more baby photos.  I am sorry, but not sorry at the same time!  I hope everyone has a fantastic week!
